WILDWOOD – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto announce the arrest of Duel Muniz-Rodriguez, 25, of Wildwood, for the distribution of heroin.
This arrest was the conclusion of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division.
On April 20, Muniz-Rodriguez was arrested during the execution of a court authorized search warrant at his residence in the 4400 block Pacific Avenue, Wildwood. Seized as a result of this search warrant were 337 bags of heroin along with an amount of marijuana. This search warrant was a result of an investigation regarding the distribution of heroin from the property.
As a result of this investigation, Muniz-Rodriguez was charged with possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substance), third degree, possession with intent to distribute CDS, third degree, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school, third degree, and possession of marijuana under 50 grams, disorderly persons offense. Muniz-Rodriguez was processed and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending court proceedings.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of three to five years in New Jersey State Prison. Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal CDS.
