Police Charge Man with 17 Counts of Theft, 20 of Forgery

OCEAN CITY — Police here charged a local man with theft and forgery after receiving a report of $9,855 missing from a victim’s bank account.
It was reported that several unauthorized checks were issued and cashed between December 2008 and February 2009.
The investigation revealed that Michael B. Davis, 21, of Ocean City, stole the checks from the victim and subsequently issued and cashed those checks receiving the stolen money from the bank account.
Davis was charged on a summons with 17 counts of theft and 20 counts of forgery.
The investigation was conducted by Detective Mark Pancoast.
