VILLAS — On June 2, Middle Township police and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Eduardo F. Cruz, 34, of Bayshore Road, for the sexual assault of an 11-year-old juvenile.
Cruz was deported back to Mexico in 2009 and police recently received information that he had returned to the area.
Cruz was located on a construction site in Lower Township and was arrested. He was charged with sexual assault and child endangerment and placed in county jail on $125,000 bail set by Family Court Judge Kyran Connor. He also had an bench warrant out of Lower Township.
This case was investigated by Middle Township Detective Clint Stocker and Detective Dan Holt of the County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Unit also assisted with the investigation.
