SCHELLENGERS LANDING — On Friday Sept.12 at 4:30 p.m., Lower Township police conducting surveillance on the dock area here observed two men engaged in a open drug sale.
Police stopped one vehicle on Route 109 and Schellengers Landing Road.
The passenger John Labanco, 28, from the 100 Block of West Maple Ave. in Wildwood, was found to be in possession of five bags of suspected heroin and placed under arrest.
The second subject driving a motorcycle was seen leaving the area. Police ordered him to stop but the subject fled into Cape May. Police there found the subject minutes later.
The subject was identified as Louis Pelletier, 49, from the 200 block of Walsh Blvd. in Rio Grande. Pelletier was arrested and charged with “obstruction of justice” as well as numerous motor vehicle violations, including Driving while suspended and unregistered motor vehicle. His motorcycle was impounded.
Labanco was charged with Possession of heroin.
He was lodged in the county jail on $15,000 bail set by Judge David DeWeese.
