CAPE MAY — On Tue., June 22, after an investigation by Cape May City detectives, two persons were arrested and charged with burglary and theft.
On Mon., June 21, police conducted an investigation when a homeowner reported items missing after returning home from vacation. Approximately $17,000 in items was listed as stolen including jewelry, silver flatware and cash.
After a brief investigation, detectives made a motor vehicle stop and subsequently arrested Lawrence T. Sheeron 4th, 36, of Court House, and Carla D. Colson, 26, of Rio Grande.
Items reported stolen from the homeowner and items from other alleged burglaries in other jurisdictions were recovered in the vehicle.
Both Sheeron and Colson were charged with burglary and theft.
Sheeron was committed to county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. Colson was released in her own recognizance pending June 23 appearance in court.
The investigation continues and is being handled by Detective Sgt. Anthony Marino and Det. Doug Henderson.
