STONE HARBOR – Borough police received a call reporting that unknown subjects were tipping Borough owned concrete benches May 30.
Subsequent investigation located suspects James Campbell, 20, of Berwyn, PA and Carl Weisbecker, 21, of Wayne, PA, on foot in the area. The two were found to have walked along Third Avenue between 92nd Street and 83rd Street tipping multiple benches and moving several benches into the roadway causing a hazard to vehicles. Additional items such as planters, lawn furniture and landscape lighting were ripped from the ground at eight different private residences and scattered about Third Avenue. One of the Borough’s benches was found to have been damaged.
Campbell and Weisbecker were taken into custody and charged on summonses with criminal mischief, obstructing a highway and disorderly conduct. They were released with a June 2014 court date. The case is pending municipal court.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
