MIDDLE TOWNSHIP POLICE RELEASE:
GREEN CREEK — On Jan. 25 at approximately 11 p.m., Middle Township Patrol Division Charlie Squad with the assistance of the Lower Township Police Department’s Detective Division located and arrested Brant Henley at 1451 Burleigh Road in this community.
Henley had been wanted since Jan. 11 for robbery charges out of Middle Township. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Middle Township Police Department for processing.
Henley was also charged with being a Fugitive from Justice by having outstanding charges in Virginia for Cocaine Smuggling. He was found to have another warrant issued by Superior Court for non-support in the amount of $1,704.
Also arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension was Henley’s girlfriend, Alaina Taylor, 25, of Lower Township.
Taylor had been assisting Henley with hiding from the police. Taylor was advised twice prior by Middle Township Police Major Crimes Detectives that she would be charged with Hindering his Apprehension if she was found in his company knowing he is being actively sought by the police on outstanding warrants.
Henley and Taylor were remanded to county jail in lieu of bail.
The robbery charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on Jan. 11 just before 7:30 p.m., when police received a report of a strong-arm robbery that had just taken place on Aberdeen Way in Rio Grande.
Cpl. Fred Crawley arrived on scene to find the victim badly beaten by two male subjects. Several personal belongings and $200 cash were also taken from the victim.
According to police, investigation revealed that David Endre, 32, planned with Henley, of Shellbay Avenue, Court House, and Shawn Miller, 32, of Villas, to drive the victim to a secluded section on Aberdeen Way, pull him out of the vehicle, assault him and take his valued possessions from him.
Positive identification was made on all three subjects, who were subsequently charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and aggravated assault — all second-degree crimes.
The following full cash bails were set: Henley, $50,000; Endre, $25,000; and Miller $15,000.
Police said that Miller and Endre surrendered themselves to police prior to Jan. 15.
