OCEAN CITY – Ocean City Police Department’s Boardwalk Officers came into contact with a subject in possession of an open alcoholic container near 8th St. and the Boardwalk June 4 at approximately 8:00 p.m.
During the investigation it was learned that the subject, Stanford Walker, 23, of Pleasantville, NJ was wanted on active arrest warrants from Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court, Plainsboro Municipal Court and Absecon Municipal Court. Bail total was in the amount of $1,284 cash for all warrants.
Walker was placed into custody by the officers for processing on the arrest warrants and issuance of a City Ordinance alcohol violation summons. During the search of Walker, following his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a loaded, .380 caliber handgun tucked into the waistband of his trousers. The weapon was secured without further incident.
The additional charges, including unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, were issued on an arrest warrant, authorized by Judge Ed Shimm, in the amount of $75,000 full cash bail. Walker was later transported to the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
