CAPE MAY – Zachary B. Vaness, 30, of Court House, was arrested by the Cape May Police Department Oct. 20 at 11:43 a.m. on charges related to theft.
Detective Joseph Walker has charged Vaness with a theft, a third degree offense, of $8,478.02 from his former employer in Middle Township. Police allege that between Aug. 5 and Oct. 13, Vaness used his position as a tow truck operator to conceal fictitious purchases within the City of Cape May on his employer’s credit card and converted the proceeds to his own personal use.
Vaness was scheduled to appear in Cape May Municipal Court Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 9:00 a.m.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
