NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Police Detectives followed up on a report made to police regarding a fraud case Feb. 19.
The victim paid Robert Dimaio, Jr., who claimed to have a mobile home to sell, $25,000 to do so. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Dimaio never had a mobile home to sell and kept the money to defraud the victim.
Dimaio, 61, residing in Sinking Spring, Pa., was charged by Detective Justin Melo with theft, theft by deception and theft by failure to make required disposition. Judge Louis J. Belasco, Jr. set bail at $15,000 full cash for theses charges.
At the time Dimaio was charged, he had already been lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center awaiting extradition to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a fugitive from justice for fraud related charges out of Berks County.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
