Police Arrest Fugitive, One Other During Click It Or Ticket Campaign

NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Police Officer Bryan Skill conducted a traffic stop at 20th and New York avenues May 24 at approximately 4:55 p.m. as a part of the Click It Or Ticket campaign. Officer Skill stopped the vehicle after noticing the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts. 
The passenger in the vehicle, Joseph Piston, was wanted out of Pennsylvania on a parole violation for bank robbery related charges. Piston was also wanted out of North Wildwood, Somers Point, Wildwood Crest and Union Township municipal courts on multiple warrants. The driver, Harry McCook, was wanted out of Dennis Township Municipal Court on a traffic warrant. 
Piston, 36, residing in Philadelphia, Pa., was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and on the multiple warrants in New Jersey. Piston was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center where he is awaiting extradition. He was also given a summons for failure to wear a seat belt. 
Harry McCook, 44, also residing in Philadelphia, Pa., was arrested on the warrant and was given a summons for failure to wear a seat belt. McCook posted bail and was released pending court.  
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
