WILDWOOD – Five men, the oldest 28 the youngest 18, were arrested on narcotics and related charges April 18 by Wildwood police, assisted by the Cape May County SWAT Team on a multi-family dwelling in the 4100 block Pacific Avenue.
According to a police release April 21, the arrests were the culmination of a two-week investigation into the alleged sale of narcotics from the site. The raid took place about 11:10 p.m. as a result of a court-authorized search warrant that targeted the residence.
“Distribution quantities” of heroin and marijuana were recovered during a search of the premises. The reputed illicit narcotics were prepackaged for street-level sales. In addition, a .32 caliber revolver, narcotics paraphernalia, hypodermic syringes and about $500 in currency was seized. That currency was “identified as proceeds of the illicit street-level sales and distribution of narcotics,” the release stated.

Wildwood Municipal Court Judge Dorothy Garrabrant set his bail at $120,000; He was remanded to Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.

Garrabrant set his bail at $200,000. He was remanded to Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
Chandler Porter, 23, an unemployed restaurant short-order cook, and Wildwood resident charged with heroin possession, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute within 100 feet of school property, possession of heroin with intent to distribute with 500 feet of certain public property, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while involved in illicit sales of narcotics, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic syringes.

Edwin Perez, 28, an unemployed restaurant worker, and Wildwood resident, was charged with heroin possession, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute within 100 feet of school property, possession of heroin with intent to distribute with 500 feet of certain public property, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while involved in illicit sales of narcotics, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic syringes. Garrabrant set his bail at $140,000. He was remanded to Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
Alexander Perez-Mercado, 22, an unemployed construction laborer, and Wildwood resident was charged with heroin possession, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute within 100 feet of school property, possession of heroin with intent to distribute with 500 feet of certain public property, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while involved in illicit sales of narcotics, certain person not to possess a firearm, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic syringes. Garrabrant set his bail at $140,000. He was remanded to Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
