CAPE MAY POINT – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Cape May Police Chief Anthony Marino announced the April 17 arrest of a Cape May Point resident for allegedly possessing MDMA (Ecstasy).
According to a release, Michael Pasquarello, 44, was charged with possession of MDMA (Ecstasy) and possession of marijuana under 50 grams. MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine), also known as Molly, is a synthetic psychoactive drug.
Pasquarello’s arrest was the end of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force, Cape May Police Department, and United States Department of Homeland Security. The investigation involved narcotics allegedly being delivered to Pasquarello’s residence via United States Postal Service.
Pasquarello was arrested April 17 during the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at his residence on Lighthouse Avenue.
Seized during the investigation were pills which tested positive for MDMA.
Pasquarello was charged with possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), third degree, and possession of marijuana under 50 grams, disorderly persons offense.
Pasquarello was processed and released on a summons pending court proceedings.
Sutherland stated his office would continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling or possessing illegal controlled dangerous substances.
