CREST HAVEN – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief William Mastriana of the Lower Township Police Department announced the Nov. 28 arrest of Joseph T. Schroeder, 57, of Bristol, Pa. on first-degree attempted murder charges that resulted from a stabbing that occurred Nov. 28 in North Cape May.
According to a Nov. 29 release, on the morning of Nov. 28, 2018, the Lower Township Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 1200 block of Sunnyside Drive.
Officers found the victim with multiple stab wounds and Schroeder was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was then transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City where he was treated for his injuries and was listed in stable condition.
Schroeder was transported to Cooper University Health Care, Camden and treated for injuries to his hands which he received during the stabbing.
As a result of the investigation Schroeder, who resides in the 300 block of Westminster Avenue, Bristol, Pa., was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Schroeder was detained at the Cooper Medical Center until he is medically cleared to be transported to the Cape May County Correctional Center.
