One More Arrested in Connection with Wildwood Shooting

WILDWOOD – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto announce the arrest of Hakim Clark, 25, of Vineland, N.J. related to a shooting incident that occurred in the City of Wildwood Jan. 28.

On Jan. 28 at approximately 5:50 p.m., Wildwood Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 East block of Roberts Avenue in Wildwood. Upon arrival, police conducted a search of the area and located several shell casings, from a firearm, lying on the ground in the 100 East block of Roberts Avenue. No injuries were reported. A multi-jurisdictional investigation was initiated involving members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Wildwood and Middle Township police departments. Six individuals were arrested and charged with various offenses as a result of this investigation.

On Feb. 16, the final individual allegedly involved in this shooting, Clark, was arrested by Egg Harbor Township Police Department as a result of charges stemming from this incident. Clark was charged with attempted murder, a crime of the second degree, unlawful possession of a weapon, a crime of the second degree and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, a crime of the second degree. Clark was transported to the Atlantic County Correctional Center and held on $100,000 full cash bail set by Judge Dorothy Garrabrant.

Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison and persons convicted of fourth degree crimes can be sentenced up to 18 months in prison.
