OCEAN CITY– Ocean City Police announced the arrest of two men in what’s being called a historic drug seizure on Mon., Oct. 3.
According to a press release, police learned of a shipment of marijuana that was shipped to Ocean City via Federal Express on Oct. 1.
Based on the information that was provided to police they were able to confirm the package was en route from California and set up surveillance on the delivery address. Officers observed two men take possession of the package and place the package in a vehicle driven by Vincent M. Descioli, 27, of Egg Harbor Township.
A motor vehicle stop was conducted on the vehicle and the package was recovered.
Police said they recovered approximately 7 pounds of marijuana with a street value of nearly $50,000.
As a result of the seizure the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a local residence in the 1400 block of Prospect Place.
Descioli and passenger Vincent J. Runfolo, 27, of Hammonton, were each charged with possession of more than 5 pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute, as well as conspiracy.
Municipal Court Judge Richard Russell set bail at $25,000 cash.
