OC Man Charged for Selling Hashish

This report is based on information received from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.

OCEAN CITY – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Ocean City’s Acting Police Chief, Capt. John Prettyman announced the June 22 arrest of William Baker, 18, of Ocean City for the distribution of hashish.

According to a release, a three-month investigation was conducted by Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force (GGNTF), along with Ocean City Police Department’s Detective Division, and involved allegations that Baker was selling edible items throughout Cape May County that allegedly contained marijuana.

On June 22, Baker was arrested without incident by members of Ocean City Police Department.

Baker was charged with distribution of hashish over five grams, third degree; distribution of hashish in a public place, second degree; possession of hashish, fourth degree; and wandering to sell CDS (controlled dangerous substance), disorderly persons offense.

Baker was subsequently placed on a warrant and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center pending court proceedings. 

The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
