Numerous Cars Ransacked in North Cape May

NORTH CAPE MAY — Lower Township police are reporting that numerous cars were entered and ransacked on the night of Monday, Dec. 7 and the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 8.
Approximately 30 vehicles were entered and ransacked with items such as cell phones, I-pods, radar detectors,, and loose change being removed from the vehicles.
Two of the vehicles that were entered belonged to Cape May County Sheriff Department Officers. Each of those Officers had a badge removed from their vehicle. The two badges stolen belonged to the Cape May County Sheriffs Department and are gold in color with black lettering.
The vehicles were entered on the following streets:
Roseanne Avenue, Suzanne Avenue, Clearwater Road, Holmes Avenue, Bayridge Road, Pilgrim Plaza, Washington Blvd, Howland Avenue, Croydon Drive, Clermont Road, Rose Hill Parkway, Keyport Road, and Locust Road.
The majority of the vehicles that were entered were unlocked and police are urging residents to get into the habit of locking their vehicles before entering their homes.
