Narcotics Search Warrant Results in Arrest

RIO GRANDE – Members of the Middle Township Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, assisted by the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team, executed a court-authorized search warrant on the residence of James Allen, 26, residing at a motel on the 3100 block of Rt. 9, Rio Grande Oct. 8.
Upon entry into the residence by members of the SWAT team, Allen ran into the bathroom and began flushing drugs and money down the toilet. He was immediately detained by SWAT team members.
As a result, an amount of prescription pills, suspected heroin and $2,500 was seized. Allen was charged with possession with the intent to distribute narcotics and destruction of evidence. Allen was incarcerated in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $35,000 cash bail.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
