Narcotics Investigation Leads to Five Arrests

WILDWOOD – Members of the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division concluded a two week investigation concerning the sales of narcotics from 3805 Pacific Avenue located in Wildwood Feb. 21.
At approximately 8:15 p.m. Feb. 21, the Cape May County SWAT Team executed a court authorized search warrant targeting the aforementioned residence, in connection to the illicit sales of narcotics from the multifamily complex.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, distribution quantities of heroin were recovered during the search of the premise. The controlled dangerous substances seized in connection to the investigation was prepackaged for street level sales. Additionally seized in connection to the search of the premise was a quantity of marijuana, narcotics paraphernalia and approximately $3,600 which was identified as proceeds of the illicit street level sales and distribution of narcotics.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged with the appropriate criminal offenses:
Jose Perez-Garica, 22, residing in the 100 block of East Lincoln Avenue, Wildwood was charged with possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin within 500′ of certain public property, a crime of the second degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
Edgar Nives, 25, residing in the 3800 block of Pacific Avenue, Wildwood, was charged with possession of heroin ,a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin within 500′ of certain public property, a crime of the second degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense and resisting arrest, a crime of the fourth degree.
Jose Alicea-Rivera, 28, residing in the 3800 block of Pacific Avenue, Wildwood, was charged with possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin within 500′ of certain public property, a crime of the second degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense, resisting arrest, a crime of the fourth degree and hindering apprehension, a crime of the third degree.
Xavier Alicea Goicochea, 18, residing in the 100 block of East Schellenger Avenue, Wildwood, was charged with possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin within 500′ of certain public property, a crime of the second degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense, hindering apprehension, a crime of the third degree and aggravated assault on a police officer, a crime of the third degree.
Juan Ruiz-Perez, 30, residing in the 100 block of East Schellenger Avenue, Wildwood, was charged with possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin, a crime of the third degree, distribution of heroin within 500′ of certain public property, a crime of the second degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
Judge Dorothy Garabrant of the Wildwood Municipal Court set bail on Perez-Garica at $80,000, full cash, no ten percent on all charges, Nives’ bail was set at $82,000, full cash, no ten percent on all charges, Alicea-Rivera’s bail was set at $92,000, full cash, no ten percent on all charges, Alicea-Goicochea’s bail was set at $90,000, full cash, no ten percent on all charges and Ruiz-Perez’s bail was set at $80,000, full cash, no ten percent on all charges. The aforementioned defendant’s were unable to post bail and were incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
