NORTH CAPE MAY – Lower Township Patrol Division, with the assistance of the Lower Township Detective Bureau, executed a search warrant on a residence, located on the 400 block Gorham Avenue in North Cape May March 18.
The results of the court authorized search yielded distribution amounts of vials containing suspected anabolic steroids, psilocybin (commonly referred to as psychedelic mushrooms), phencyclidine (commonly referred to as PCP or wet), and marijuana. The aforementioned controlled dangerous substances (CDS) were seized and brought to the Lower Township Police Department.
The owner of the residence, David J. Fletcher III, 31, was charged with three counts of distribution of CDS; with the “mushrooms” and “PCP” being crimes of the second degree; the suspected anabolic steroid distribution charge is a crime of the third degree. Fletcher was also charged with one count of possession of marijuana 50 grams or less, a disorderly persons offense.
Fletcher was already lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center at the time of execution of the search warrant. The new and additional charges, as a result of the search warrant, were served to him there.
This incident was investigated by Patrolman Michael Nuscis, along with members of the Detective Division from within the Lower Township Police Department.
