NORTH WILDWOOD – Cape May County Acting Prosecutor Robert Johnson and North Wildwood Police Chief Matthew Gallagher announce the arrest of Tahiem Howell, of North Wildwood, for the distribution of cocaine Oct. 26.
This arrest was the conclusion of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and the North Wildwood Police Department Detective Division, according to a release.
On Oct. 26, with the assistance of the Cape May County Regional SWAT team, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at the residence of Howell, located on the 100 block West 26th Avenue in North Wildwood. Seized during this investigation were distribution amounts of crack cocaine. This search warrant was a result of an investigation regarding the distribution of crack cocaine by Howell throughout Cape May County.
As a result of the investigation, Howell was charged with distribution of CDS (controlled dangerous substance) – crack-cocaine, distribution within 500 feet of public place – crack-cocaine, and distribution within 1,000 feet of a school zone – crack-cocaine. Howell was processed and released on a summons as per bail reform.
Johnson advises that persons convicted of a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Johnson stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal controlled dangerous substances.

The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
