N. Wildwood Man Faces Arson, Burglary Charges

The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
NORTH WILDWOOD – A North Wildwood resident was arrested Jan. 6 and charged with arson, burglary, and criminal mischief.
According to a release, Officer Joseph Kopetsky was on patrol Jan. 6 at 9:25 a.m. in the area of 18th and New Jersey avenues when he observed a person walk out from behind the former site of Woody’s Cafe.
Due to the property being vacant, Kopetsky made contact with the subject and identified him as Ralph Otto, 54, of North Wildwood.
Otto reportedly had a laceration on his hand and blood on his clothes.
Upon investigation, it was found that Otto had allegedly broken into the property and had set a small fire inside that was extinguished before police arrived.
Otto was charged and remanded to the Cape May County Correctional Center on a warrant.
