CREST HAVEN – The arrest of Albert M. McCarraher, 19, of North Cape May on sexual assault charges was announced Nov. 8 by Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana.
According to a release, Lower Township police were alerted Nov. 4 to a 14-year-old female victim who stated she had been sexually assaulted by McCarraher during the first week of November.
Detectives from the Lower Township Police Department and the County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit initiated an investigation.
During that investigation, two other juvenile female victims provided statements that they were sexually assaulted by McCarraher.
A 14-year-old victim stated that she was sexually assaulted in October 2019, and an 11-year-old victim stated she was also sexually assaulted during the first week of November. All three victims were acquaintances of McCarraher.
McCarraher was arrested Nov. 7, and charged with four counts of sexual assault of a juvenile and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
McCarraher was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
