COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Lower Township Police Department Chief William Mastriana announce the arrest of Dennis Krueger, 45, of North Cape May for possession of child pornography, third degree.
This investigation stemmed from a Peer2Peer monitoring operation by members of New Jersey State Police and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) for subjects that download and/or share illegal child pornography.
This operation revealed that an unknown subject downloaded several videos/images of suspected child pornography, via a Peer2Peer network.
This investigation resulted in a search warrant execution Sept. 30 at a residence in North Cape May by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Lower Township Police Department, New Jersey State Police (ICAC Unit), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the New Jersey State Parole Board.
During onsite forensic previews of the computers, multiple files of suspected child pornography were located. Several computers and cell phones in Kruger’s residence were seized as evidence.
Krueger was arrested Sept. 30 and charged with the above listed charge, and placed in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $25,000 bail, pending court.
During this warrant execution, another resident at the same location, Ryan Krueger, 22, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense, and released on a summons pending court.
Prosecutor Taylor would like to recognize Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), New Jersey State Parole Board, and the New Jersey State Police (ICAC Unit), for their assistance in this investigation.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that individuals charged with a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of three to five years in New Jersey State Prison and individuals charged with a disorderly persons offense can serve up to six months in jail.
This investigation is part of the ongoing effort by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey (ICAC) Task Force to identify those involved in the child pornography trade.
Prosecutor Taylor continues to urge the citizens of Cape May County to report any information regarding child exploitation or any criminal activity within the community and that information can be reported anonymously through the Cape May County Sheriff’s Tip Line at cmcsheriff.net and click on anonymous tip, or through the Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 609-465-2800 or 877-465-2801, or to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-465-1135.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from the Prosecutor’s Office.
