Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Fugitive Arrest

WILDWOOD CREST – Sgt. Robert Lloyd conducted a motor vehicle stop July 23. During the motor vehicle stop, the passenger, Miguel Soto, provided false information to officers regarding his identity. Further investigation revealed that he was a wanted fugitive out of the state of New York on a warrant issued in October of 1995 for second degree robbery in New York City.
Soto was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center awaiting extradition. Additional bail was set at $25,000 full cash for the remaining charges.
The driver of the vehicle, Donna Alessio, was charged with hindering the apprehension of another and was released.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
