ERMA – Special Officer Scheid of the Lower Township Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on State Highway 9 in Erma for an observed traffic violation Aug. 21.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as David P. Tosto, 42, who is employed as a chef, residing in the 100 block of Heidi Ave. in North Cape May, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of the Lower Township Municipal Court. During the arrest, Tosto was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia associated with heroin.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Lower Township Police Department. Upon completion of processing, Tosto was issued a criminal complaint summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic summons for the motor vehicle violation. He posted bail for the warrant and was released pending court.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
