Month Long Investigation Results in Drug Arrest; Heroin, Narcotics Paraphernalia Recovered

WILDWOOD – Members of the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division, concluded a month long investigation concerning the sales of narcotics from the 300 block of East Montgomery Avenue, located in the City of Wildwood Nov. 12.
At approximately 7 p.m. Nov. 12, the Cape May County SWAT Team along with the Cape May County Sheriffs Department Canine Unit executed a court authorized search warrant targeting the aforementioned residence in connection to the illicit sales of narcotics.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant distribution quantities of narcotics, specifically heroin and narcotics paraphernalia were recovered. The controlled dangerous substances seized in connection to the investigation were pre-packaged for street level sales/distribution. Additionally, seized in connection to the search of the premise was hypodermic syringes and approximately $500, which was identified as proceeds of the illicit sales of narcotics.
As a result of the investigation, Renaldo Abrante-Garcia, 51, residing in the City of Wildwood, was arrested and charged with the following criminal charges: possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, a crime of the third degree, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute within 1000′ of school property, a crime of the third degree, possession of heroin within 500′ of certain public property, a crime of the second degree, possession of Alprazolam a schedule IV narcotic, a crime of the third degree, and possession of hypodermic syringes, a disorderly persons offense.
Judge Dorothy Garrabrant of the Wildwood Municipal Court set bail on Abrante-Garcia at $170,000, full cash no ten percent on all charges. Abrante-Garica was unable to post bail and was incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
