NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Police Department Detective Division concluded a one month investigation in relation to reports of a residence that was burglarized twice on the 100 block of W. 24th Avenue. The incidents were reported to North Wildwood Police between Nov. and Dec. Over the course of the investigation, it was learned that the accused, Lelani Freeman, 30, of Woodbine, stole pills and an electronic benefit card from the residence. Freeman was known to the victim.
Freeman was arrested and charged by Detective Daniel Schules with burglary, two counts of theft, criminal mischief, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property. Freeman was wanted by the Cape May County Sherrif’s Department and Wildwood Municipal Court on criminal warrants. She was also wanted by North Wildwood and Woodbine Municipal Courts on traffic warrants. These warrants totaled over $5,000.
Freeman was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center on the previously mentioned warrants.Judge Louis J. Belasco, Jr. also set bail in the amount of $10,000/full cash bail for the burglary related charges.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
