Several hundred thousand dollars are missing from the campaign account of U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo, the website PolitickerNJ.com reports.
According to the report LoBiondo has referred the matter to federal officials for investigation. No charges in the matter have yet been filed.
In response to inquiries about the missing money, LoBiondo’s attorney issued te following statement.
“The LoBiondo campaign recently became aware of an issue involving a former campaign worker,” said William McGinley. “The campaign has contacted the appropriate federal authorities and is actively cooperating with their investigation. For this reason, we will not comment further on this matter at this time.”
