Minor Refused Tobacco Sale, Assaults Store Clerk

OCEAN CITY – On May 24 at 8:07 p.m., the Ocean City Police responded to a robbery at the Exxon Station located at 9th St. & Bay Avenue.
It was reported by the victim that a black female had entered the store attempting to buy tobacco products.
When the victim refused to sell the accused the products due to her age, she became enraged and threw a counter display item at the victim.
The victim then attempted to escort the accused from the store.
The accused punched the victim in the face and head several times causing lacerations.
The victim was able to break free of the accused at which time the accused grabbed personal items of the victim and fled the store.
The Victim was able to provide a physical description of the accused to the police as they arrived at the scene.
A short time later the accused was located at her residence on Mercer Place in Ocean City.
The accused was still in possession of the personal items taken from the victim. The accused was placed under arrest and a warrant was issued by Judge Richard Russell in the amount of $50,000 full cash bail.
ARRESTED: 1) Joyce L. Kashanier, age 18, Ocean City, NJ Bail $50,000.00 full
CHARGES: 1) Robbery Strong Armed 2C:15-1(4)
2) Terrostistics Threats 2C:12-3
