COURT HOUSE — A Millville Memorial High School mathematics teacher who allegedly engaged in sexual relations with two female students, one 14 and one 16, was indicted on 11 counts by a Cumberland County grand jury, according to the dailyjournal.com.
According to a June press release from Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor, Michael S. Drebes, 37, of Chew Road, Waterford, was arrested as a result of the cooperative investigation that was initiated by detectives from the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s office and Millville Police Department.
According to a release, during the course of that investigation, detectives confirmed that Drebes, a math teacher at Memorial High School, Millville, had allegedly had sexual intercourse with two juvenile females in a hotel room in Cape May during the Memorial Day Weekend. Drebes traveled with the two juveniles from Cumberland County to Cape May, according to Taylor.
That investigation also revealed that Drebes also had an on-going sexual relationship with one of the juvenile females that spanned over four months. One of those victims was a current student of Drebes, and the other victim was a former student.
Taylor lauded the detectives from his office and those of Cumberland County Prosecutor Ron Casella’s office as well as Millville Police Department for their cooperative efforts, which resulted in the resolution of the case.
