Middle Twp Police Make Arrest in Social Media Post Threatening School

The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
COURT HOUSE — The Middle Township Police Department received information in the evening of Sept. 26 about a threatening post on social media directed at Middle Township. Shortly after making the announcement, at 9:36 p.m. the department issued a second release stating that the subject, Raymond Bailey III, was in custody.
According to the first release, the Middle Township Major Crimes Unit along with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office are actively investigating and have charged, Bailey III, a former student of Middle Township High School and Cape May County Technical High School, 20, from Court House with false public alarms, cyber harassment, and terroristic threats.
The Middle Township Police Department will have an increased presence at all Middle Township Schools Sept. 27 and will be working closely with school districts to ensure the safety of faculty and students.
