Middle Twp. Man Convicted of Assaulting Police Officer

COURT HOUSE – A jury found Middle Township resident Kenneth Copson guilty of aggravated asault and eluding police, in connection with the May 15, 2008 assault of Middle Township police Officer Steven Novsak, the Press of Atlantic City reports.
Both charges are a second-degree crimes. Copson was riding an all-terrain vehicle early that morning when he hit Novsak in the leg on a Middle Township road. Copson was also found guilty of the fourth-degree charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the report.
Copson faces a prison term of between five to ten years.
