Middle Twp. Man Charged with Heroin Distribution

BURLEIGH – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce the arrest of Harold Perez-Heredia, 24, a resident of Middle Township, for distribution of heroin, according to an April 28 release.
This arrest was the result of a cooperative investigation between Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and Middle Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit.
Perez-Heredia was arrested April 27 during the execution of a court authorized search warrant of his residence located at a motel on the 400 block North Wildwood Boulevard in the Burleigh section of Middle Township. As a result, distribution amounts of heroin, valued over $2,000, was seized as well as over $6,000 in cash. 
Perez-Heredia was charged with distribution of heroin, a crime of the third degree, and possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree. He was lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $40,000 full cash bail set by Judge Dorothy Garrabrant.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of three to five years in New Jersey State Prison. Prosecutor Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal controlled dangerous substances.
