COURT HOUSE– On Sunday, June 20, at approximately 2:35 p.m., police communications received a call that a white male had just assaulted the gas attendant at Court House Mobil, and tried to take money they were holding in their hand.
Approximately one minute later, Sergeant Richard McHale and Patrolmen Julio Ruiz and Matt Martino, arrived on-scene, and spoke to the attendant, who said that a white male had just approached them on foot, and asked them for some cash.
The attendant refused to comply, when the suspect grabbed a hold of the roll of money in the attendant’s hand and tried to pull it away. The attendant held on to the money and was then punched in the face. The attendant suffered minor injuries from the assault.
The suspect then took off running east, across US#9, onto Pacific Avenue, in the direction of the Parkway. A search of the area did not reveal any information on the suspect’s location, or any evidence of the crime.
Witnesses in the area said they saw the suspect when he was walking towards the gas station, and later, running away from the station, without knowing what had taken place. The suspect is described as a white male, in his twenty’s; wearing a black t-shirt, shorts, an older style “Jeff” cap and sunglasses.
