Middle Township Police Nab Wanted Fugitive

RIO GRANDE– On Sunday, June 20, police communications received a call from Woodbury Police Department of a subject, David Richardson, 36, was wanted in connection with a violation of a restraining order from that town. Limited information did include that this same subject took a 1998 blue Buick Regal, without the owner’s permission, in West Deptford, in a separate incident from the restraining order violation.
Early reports advised that Richardson’s cell phone had been tracked to Route 47, in the Rio Grande area. Patrol Officers Jason Sill, Michelle Greenwaldt, Jack Trombetta and Armond Jones, then began a search of the area, for the subject and vehicle. Ptl. Greenwaldt then observed that vehicle west on Route 47, and followed it into the Rio Grande Wawa. Officers Greenwaldt and Jones subsequently took Richardson into custody, without incident.
After processing at Middle Township Police headquarters, Richardson was turned over to Woodbury Police Department, where he was charged in connection with Kidnapping, Criminal Restraint, Aggravated Assault, Weapons offenses against a female victim.
Additional charges are pending, along with taking an MV, without owner’s consent, from another victim, in West Deptford, NJ. Richardson is homeless, but comes from Nassau Avenue in Paulsboro, NJ. His bail was set at $235,000 cash.
