Middle Township High School Wins County Mock Trial Title

COURT HOUSE — The Cape May County Bar Association has announced that Middle Township High School was declared winner of the Cape May County High School Mock Trial Competition during Cape May County’s five-week long competition at the Cape May County Superior Court.
On Thurs., Feb. 2, in the final competition, it was Lower Cape May Regional High School v. Middle Township High School.
Lower Township did a great job and put the pres-sure on Middle Township, their hard work should definitely not go unnoticed, according to a release.
This year’s competitions were very close up until the end. All the teams and their coaches did a great job this year, as these competitions take much time to practice, all teams should be com-mended, the release stated.
Middle will compete in the Southern Regional Playoffs in New Brunswick, on Feb. 29.
The Middle Township High School Team consists of Ryan Burke, Samantha Burkholder, Alex Casper, Ryan Hildebrandt, James Mallia, Lisa Marriner, Shelby Smith, Ashley Smutnik, Ed Runyon and Abdiel Santiago.
The team is headed by teacher coaches, Martina Trapani and Joseph Towns, and attorney coach, Frederick Mick, esquire.
The Cape May County High School Mock Trial Program is sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation in cooperation with the Cape May County Bar Association and the Cape May County Superior Court.
