COURT HOUSE — In the wake of allegations against a female Middle Township Recreation Department summer camp counselor, a 19-year-old Eldora woman faces three counts of child endangerment.
On Aug. 5, at Clarence Davies Sports Complex, Goshen Road, allegations were made against a Middle Township Recreation Department summer camp counselor, involving alleged mistreatment consisting of verbal harassment, and physical pushing and shoving of child summer camp attendees, according to a police release.
The alleged incidents all occurred on that date and were either reported to supervisors by the children, their parents or other staff members who witnessed the incidents.
Middle Township police were alerted to the incidents and conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
Reportedly three victims have been identified ranging in age from 8 to 11 years old.
No injuries were reported, but all reported incidents of harassment and pushing and shoving done by one particular summer counselor, and all occurred at the Davies Sports Complex.
The accused counselor was identified as Kelli L. Martino, 19, of Eldora.
As a result of the investigation, Martino has been charged with three counts of child endangerment a fourth degree crime.
Martino was released on summons; she was also terminated from her summer camp counselor position.
