By Press Release

COURT HOUSE — On July 8, the Middle Township Police Department was requested to respond to the area of Dias Creek Road and Country Acres Drive for a report of a robbery.
The victim, a 17-year old juvenile, reported that he was walking down Dias Creek Road when a vehicle, occupied by two individuals, pulled in front of him and stopped. As he walked past the driver’s side of this vehicle, the rear door opened and he was pulled inside the car.
The victim reports that the rear occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old juvenile, held an unknown object to his neck demanding him to empty his pockets. The victim’s phone along with an amount of U.S. currency was taken, and then the victim was pushed out of the car.
A description of the car involved was broadcast county-wide and the vehicle was located by a Cape May County Sheriff’s Officer at the intersection of the Garden State Parkway and Shellbay Avenue. The vehicle ran out of gas while sitting at the traffic light.
At this time there was only one occupant, Michael Flax, 25, from Court House, inside of the vehicle. Flax was taken into custody and it was learned the second occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old juvenile, was dropped off at another location.
Police are actively investigating, charges are pending. The case is under investigation by Ptlm. Armondo Jones and the Middle Township Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit.
