Middle Police Make Prostitution Arrest

RIO GRANDE – Members of the Middle Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Major Crimes Unit and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, arrested Kyra Mathis, 26, of Marmora for prostitution March 30.  
Mathis is currently staying at a motel in the 1400 block Route 47, in Rio Grande, where she met with an officer who acted as the undercover “John.” Mathis agreed to engage in both oral and vaginal sex with the undercover for $50.
Mathis was transported to Middle Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after being charged with prostitution, a disorderly persons offense.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
