COURT HOUSE – A 23-year-old man is dead and Middle Township police have charged a 26-year-old Court House resident in connection with his death.
According to a report issued Oct. 26 by Cape May County Acting Prosecutor Robert Johnson and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner, an emergency call was received Oct. 25 that reported an unresponsive male at a Meadow Valley Road residence in Burleigh.
On arrival, police found Sonny Sinnerard, 23, deceased.
A joint investigation followed undertaken by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Middle Township Police Department Detective Bureau.
That led authorities to Daniel Osmundsen, 26, a resident of Country Acres Drive in Court House, who allegedly sold Sinnerard suspected heroin in the early morning hours of Oct. 25.
As a result of the investigation, Osmundsen was charged with one count of strict liability for drug-induced death, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
As a result of the charges, Osmundsen was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center awaiting court proceedings.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
