Marbles in Paintball Gun Used in Drive-by Shooting

GOSHEN — A 9-1-1 call to Middle Township police at 12:30 a.m. on Tue., July 5 reported a drive-by shooting on Route 47 North.
The caller was able to provide police with a description of the suspect vehicle, according to a release.
Patrol units in the area stopped that vehicle shortly after the call.
Police reported that Edward Weiss, 46, of Villas, and Donald Diehl, 44, of Del Haven were in the vehicle.
Further investigation led police to find a paint ball gun, filled with marbles, that was allegedly used to shoot at the victim’s vehicle.
Both were arrested and charged with aggravated assault and various weapons offenses, and were remanded to county jail in lieu of bail, for Diehl, $25,000, for Weiss, $35,000.
There were no injuries in the incident. Marbles were recovered from the victim’s residence, police stated.
