Man Wanted in Sea Isle City Assault Turns Himself in to Police

The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
SEA ISLE CITY – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief Thomas McQuillen of the Sea Isle City Police Department have announced the arrest of Daniel B. Smyth, 24, from Springfield Township, Pa. for aggravated assault charges.
According to a release, on Feb. 16 at approximately 7:10 p.m. there was an assault inside the La Costa Lounge, 4000 Landis Ave.
Following numerous tips and information provided by the public in response to the initial release and photos, the accused was identified as Smyth.
On Feb. 22 at approximately 9:15 a.m., Smyth turned himself in to the Sea Isle City Police Department and was subsequently charged with:
Aggravated assault- Purposely attempt to cause serious bodily injury.
Aggravated assault- Cause Significant Bodily Injury.
Smyth was processed and released with summonses pending court proceedings.
Detective Scarano, Detective Sgt. Bradshaw, along with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and numerous law enforcement agencies assisted with the investigation. Sutherland and McQuillen applauded the assistance from the public in making the arrest possible.
