DEL HAVEN – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner advised the public of a joint investigation being conducted on North 10th Street in Del Haven.
On June 21 at approximately 11:06 p.m., members of Middle Township Police Department responded to a residence located on North 10th Street for a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, and the victim was subsequently transported to Atlantic City Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
An investigation by Middle Township detectives and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units determined that three unknown men approached the shooting victim and a struggle ensued. During the course of the struggle with the men, the victim was shot in the leg.
Members of Middle Township Police Department and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office are diligently working together to learn further details related to the incident. At this time, Sutherland and Leusner want to assure the public that there is no reason to be alarmed of any danger in the surrounding area of the incident, and as more details evolve, further information regarding the incident will be released to the public.
