Man Sentenced for Robbery, Weapons Offenses, Assault, and Drug Charges

COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L Taylor announces the sentencing of Andrew Curran,28, of Wildwood, New Jersey for Robbery, Weapons Offenses, Assault and CDS charges.
In May of 2012, the Wildwood Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a local grocery store for the report of a white male with a bandanna around his face, who had brandished a semi automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Mr. Curran.
In August of 2012, the Wildwood Police Department arrested Mr. Curran for assault stemming from a verbal dispute which had occurred in the 200 West Block of Pine Avenue.
In January of 2013, the Wildwood Police Department conducted an investigation into the distribution of CDS. As a result of that investigation a Court Authorized Search Warrant was executed on Curran’s residence and Curran and a second party were charged with CDS related offenses.
On August 2, 2013, Andrew Curran was sentenced by the Honorable Patricia M. Wild, JSC to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison with No Early Release Act as regard to the robbery and weapons offenses and well as a 5 years consecutive term in New Jersey State Prison as it relates to the CDS offenses and six month consecutive term of confinement in the Cape May County Correctional Center in regard to the assault charge.
Prosecutor Taylor recognizes the efforts of the agencies involved which resulted in the successful conclusion of this investigation.
