Man Faces Charges After Alleged Assault at Burleigh Store

BURLEIGH – Middle Township Police Department responded to a store located on the first block Indian Trail Road in Burleigh Feb. 21 at approximately 12:30 p.m. for a reported fight.   
Cpl. Ronald Miller responded to the scene and found a 38-year-old male from Middle Township and Edward Lunn, 35, of Burleigh, involved in the fight. Through further investigation, it was discovered that Lunn attacked the victim while they were inside the store. The attack then continued outside of the store where Lunn cut the victim with a knife. 
Lunn was charged with aggravated assault, third degree; unlawful possession of a weapon, third degree; and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth degree.  
Lunn was processed and released on a summons. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was released from Cape Regional Medical Center after being treated for his injuries.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
