CAPE MAY – Chief Anthony Marino of the Cape May Police Department reported the arrest of an individual on charges stemming from a domestic dispute.
According to a police release, Angel Orozco, 23, of Wildwood was arrested Sept. 8, after officers were dispatched to a report of a female who was assaulted.
The investigation revealed that Orozco allegedly struck the female in the face with a closed fist and, while being questioned by police, fled the scene on foot.
A search was conducted for Orozco in the area of the 1000 block of Beach Avenue, New Jersey Avenue and on the beach.
Orozco was eventually stopped driving a motor vehicle on New Jersey Avenue.
He was charged with simple assault and obstructing the administration of law.
Orozco was released after posting bail. The investigation was conducted by Patrolman Anthony Genaro, Sgt. Thomas Connelly, Sgt. Dekon Fashaw and Capt. Robert Sheehan.
