SEA ISLE CITY – A call for medical assistance to Sea Isle City police Sept. 30 at 9:44 a.m. resulted in a local man facing various charges including possessing chemicals to make explosives.
According to a release, police officers arrested Steven Lamb, 29, after they found “suspicious materials” inside the residence.
Lamb was taken into custody and transported to the hospital.
City police called on the FBI, Atlantic City Bomb Squad, the County Prosecutor’s Office as well as the county’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Weapons Unit.
Police Chief Thomas D’Intino stated officers, “Acted quickly and professionally. At no time were Sea Isle residents in any danger.”
The incident remains under investigation.
Lamb was charged with two counts of possession of chemicals and components for the purpose of manufacturing explosive devices, possession of distribution quantities of LSD strips, possession of a CO2-powered handgun for an unlawful purpose, distribution quantities of controlled dangerous substances, and related offenses having to do with controlled dangerous substances.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
