VILLAS — On Wednesday, March 3 at approximately 2 p.m., Lower Township police received a report of a disorderly male harassing a Connective line-man on West New Jersey Avenue.
According to a release, Corp. William Priole arrived on the scene and encountered Daniel Olah, 53, of the 1000 Block of Delaware Avenue, Villas. Olah appeared highly intoxicated and was belligerent and hostile towards the officer.
A warrants check revealed that Olah was wanted out of Atlantic City, New Jersey, on a domestic violence/contempt bench warrant. Olah became un-cooperative and resisted arrest at the scene. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lower Township Police Department.
Once inside the processing room at the police department, Olah became highly combative and attacked Sgt. David Adams and Detective Joseph Boyle, kicking the officers. According to police, Olah told the officers that he was a member of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Gang and made threats against the officers.
Olah became so violent after assaulting the officers, that he had to be brought to the ground and physically immobilized with restraints prior to being transported to county jail by two officers. Olah has an extensive criminal history, including prior arrests for aggravated assaults on police officers and weapons offenses.
In addition to the warrants, Olah was charged with one count of terroristic threats against cfficers, a third-degree crime; two counts of aggravated assault on officers also a third-degree crime. Bail was set by Judge George Neidig at $50,000 full cash.
